Day and night are equal,hence the Autumn Equinox. Some names this Sabbat is known for are, The Second Harvest Festival,Wine Harvest, Cornucopia, and Winter Finding.
The Druids call this celebration, Mea'n Fo'mhair, and honor the The Green Man, the God of the Forest. Offerings of ciders, wines, (beer),herbs,corn,grain etc. are appropriate. Pagans celebrate the aging of theGoddess as she passes from Mother to Crone, and her consort the God as he prepares for death and re-birth.
